DLSUCET Schedule and Important Dates 2010: SY 2011-2012

Last updated: March 19, 2010

Students of De La Salle University (DLSU) know for a fact that the institution operates under a slightly different schedule—that is, it eschews a semester system for a trimester one.  This makes for some slight adjustments with respect to application schedules.

Another thing that’s worthy of note is the fact that certain “special cases” abound—that is, transferees and students hot on the heels of a second undergraduate degree have a different application schedule set aside just for them.  Let’s take a closer look at this and then some.

Schedule Updates and Then Some

The application period for the first trimester of school year 2010-2011is already underway for the aforementioned student types; it started last March 1st and it will last until April 16, 2010.  Likewise, DLSU will administer the exams for these students on April 21, 2010.

What if you’re neither a transferee nor a student pursuing a second undergraduate degree?  Not to worry:  the “regular” DLSU applications for school year 2011-2012 will commence sometime in June 2010.

Furthermore, the 2010 edition of DLSU’s entrance exam is tentatively set for the last three Sundays in October.  The school intends to disclose the official dates to the public in June as well, so stay tuned for further updates with respect to these.

Transferee Considerations

The application process for transferees and second degree undergraduate pupils is somewhat similar to that of “regular” students, with some small yet important differences.

For one thing, some extra documents are required, such as a catalog of the courses that the transferees’ had taken in their previous school.  The good news is that, if successful, applicants can have course units taken in their previous school credited to their DLSU program within limits—the total number of credited units should be no more than one-fifth of the total number of required units in the applicants’ current course.

If you’d like a more comprehensive listing of the process and the paperwork involved, check this article out or visit this webpage.

Second Degree Conditions

On the other hand, second degree pursuers are also subject to certain conditions:  they must be recent (read: within the last three years) DLSU graduates with good grades (a 2.500 minimum GPA) and no failures.

If successful, applicants may credit up to half of the subjects they took the first time around toward their second degree.  The trade-off is that the students cannot shift courses, flunk subjects or bag any more academic awards.

If this sounds like a good idea to you, then check this webpage out for the nitty-gritty on the required documents and the steps involved.
