San Beda College Introduction
San Beda College—known for its excellence in studies focused on criminal justice and the judicial system in the country—is a private sectarian college run by the Benedictine monks. Presently, they stand three (3) campuses: one in Mendiola, Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa and another in Taytay, Rizal. The first campus in Mendiola was founded in 1901 as the El Colegio de San Beda starting as grade school for all-boys. Later, it began to grow with degree and non-degree collegiate programs. They soon expanded and grew with SBC-Alabang (formerly known as Benedictine Abbey School) and SBC-Rizal as their biggest campus and department for Basic Education.
Now, celebrating its 110 years of Connectedness and God’s Glory San Beda College still aims to defend endless Catholic battlements in the field of education specifically for the Filipino nation.

San Beda Application and Admission Process
Application in San Beda is not a hassle. Just pay the application fee of ₱600.00 for Manila and ₱500.00 for Alabang at the Cashier and give the receipt together with your other requirements to the Admissions Center and you should be issued a Testing Permit and Testing Schedule. Should you fail to attend the scheduled exams, the applicant is advised to call the Admissions (contact list posted below this article) to reschedule the exam but no applicant can reschedule their exam more than once over than that may result to forfeiture of application.
You can submit your application concerns starting the second quarter of the school year until May of next year. Deadlines, however, may subject to change without prior notice to this blog. Application and exam scheduling are in first come first serve basis.
Assuming that you have already taken the exam (we’ll talk about them later), the next step is to ask the Admissions about the test result on the date given to you by the examiner/proctor either by call or by notice in their official website.
FOR MANILA APPLICANTS, after passing the entrance exam, you will have a series of more tests to pass through. For WAITLISTED APPLICANTS, they need to attend a formal face-to-face interview with either the College Head or Admissions Head. Applicants are instructed to wear proper attire for the interview. If it may be deemed necessary, one may undergo more than one. Upon passing the interview, you must undergo a medical examination in any hospital/clinic conducted by a licensed physician. The examinations are as follows: Blood Count (CBC), Electrocardiogram (ECG), Chest X-ray, Urinalysis, Fecalysis and Drug test. After taking such medical exams, go straight to the SBC Clinic with the results for analysis and reading. You will be given a clearance to the CON Board of Admission/Guidance Office if you passed the medical exam.
If you are accepted, you will have to pay the ₱2,000 reservation fee for the safety of your slot at the Admissions Center. For transferees, course accreditation follows as next step. The eligibility for enrollment is given upon submission of:
- Form 138/Original copy of the Report Card (for freshman), Transfer Credentials/Honorable Dismissal (transferee), and other documents required (i.e. admission contracts)
Students will be scheduled an enrollment day. After the enrollment, students will have to attend the Orientation Program.
FOR ALABANG APPLICANTS, the steps vary but however, you may undergo the medical examination at the SBC Clinic with fee of ₱500.00. Applicants will be scheduled a medical test. If you again failed to come in the scheduled medical test, you have to submit a letter for rescheduling. Applicants will be notified if they passed the medical test and will be issued a medical clearance. Applicants will be requested to pass the clearance to the Admissions Center to get a student number and enrollment scheduling goes afterwards.

General CEU Exam Coverage and Feedback
Applicants who have taken the exam say that the test is relatively average to hard in its difficulty. Most of the questions in the exam come straight from the Fourth Year lessons and only an itsy bitsy of those from the lower years come into the test questionnaire. A good stock knowledge will serve best for you to pass the entrance exam.
Besides Math, Science and English subtests, the general exam also includes a Critical Thinking subtest to create variety to the subject tests. This is the most challenging part of the exam, applicants say.
