Scholarship Background

The San Domingo de Guzman Scholarship for the Gifted is for talented students who excel in the arts, sports and other special skills. This scholarship is named after the Founder of the Order of Preachers.

Scholarship Benefits

1. The coverage and benefits of the scholarship will depend on the recommendation by the dean/mentor.
2. “active rest” status every examination week for members of choral groups and instrumental groups with goals of graduating cum laude or maintaining DL status, and those with low marks.
3. members:
-may be awarded full scholarship (100% matriculation + misc discounts) depending on recommendation,
-use top of the line equipment/supplies,
-have partial subsidy for international trips (for national competitors) and costs for approved out-of-town competitions are shouldered by the office as an incentive to those belonging in champion teams

Scholarship Qualifications

Must be a member of the The Conservatory of Music choral groups namely:
1. The Coro Tomasino
2. The Liturgikon Vocal Ensemble
3. and the world-renowned UST Singers.
or instrumental groups namely:
1. The UST Jazz Band
2. The UST Guitar Ensemble,
3. Rondalla,
4. Woodwind Quintet,
5. Brass Quintet,
6. USTe Mundo- the ethnic ensemble and various smaller groups which can be called on as the need arises.

Scholarship Requirements

-must excel in music.
-must pass try outs.

Interested applicants may inquire and apply at the Conservatory of Music.
