Scholarship Background

Chinese Government Scholarship—Bilateral Program includes FULL AND PARTIAL scholarship established by the Ministry of Education in accordance with educational exchange agreements or any Memorandum of Understanding between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities and international organizations. It supports undergraduate programs, master’s programs, doctoral programs, general scholar programs and senior scholar programs.

This scholarship offers 1 full scholarship slot and 1 partial scholarship slot.

Scholarship Benefits

PARTIAL:
1. School fees as assessed but not to exceed P 12,500.00
2. Book allowance – P 5,000.00
3. Monthly stipend at P 3,500 x 5 months – P 17,500.00.

Total: P 35,000.00 per semester.

FULL:
1. Total: P 70,000 per semester.
2. School fees as assessed but not to exceed – P 30,000.00
3. Book allowance – P 5,000.00
4. Monthly stipend at P 7,000 x 5 months – P 35,000.00.

Scholarship Qualifications

PARTIAL:
1. Must be in good health (applicant must submit a medical certificate.) Any student with incurable disease shall not be qualified to apply for the grant;
2. Must be a Filipino citizen and a bona fide minimum sophomore student enrolled in any undergraduate degree program of the University of the Philippines Diliman;
3. Must be a Filipino citizen and a bona fide sophomore student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program of the College of Law, the National College of Public Administration and Governance, School of Economics or the College of Mass Communication, all of the University of the Philippines Diliman;
4. Must have a minimum general weighted average (GWA) grade of “2.50” and must have carried a normal load with no grade of “5.00”, unremoved grade of “4.00” or un-completed grade of “INC” up to semester immediately preceding the application;
5. Must not have been held liable for any disciplinary action by the University, as certified by the applicant’s dean of college.
6. Must not have parents or guardians with a combined annual gross income exceeding PHP 300,000;
7. Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship grant.

FULL:
1. Must not have been held liable for any disciplinary action by the University, as certified by the applicant’s dean of college.
2. Must have a minimum general weighted average (GWA) grade of “1.75” and must have carried a load with no grade of “5.00”, unremoved grade of “4.00” or uncompleted grade of “INC” up to the semester immediately preceding the application;
3. Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship grant or assistance;
4. Must not have parents or guardians with a combined annual gross income exceeding P 1,000,000; and
5. Must be in good health (applicant must submit a medical certificate). Any student with an incurable disease shall not be qualified to apply for the grant;
6. Must be a Filipino citizen and a bona fide sophomore student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program of the College of Law, the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), School of Economics or the College of Mass Communication, all of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
