Scholarship Background

The Chevron Geothermal Philippine Holdings, Inc., popularly known as Chevron or CGPHI, is a subsidiary of the Chevron Corporation. Chevron is the fifth largest integrated energy company in the world that operates in about 180 countries. Chevron is based in San Ramon, California, USA. It operates for the National Power Corporation in the Tiwi Field, Albay. It also operates in the Mak-Ban Field of the Laguna and Batangas areas.

The project to review the CGPHI’s Community Engagement Program in Tiwi and Mak-Ban was awarded to the Center for Labor Education, Advocacy Research and Development Inc., known as CLEARED. CLEARED is the partner foundation of the University of the Philippines School of Labor and Industrial Relations in Diliman, Quezon City. The objective of the research project is to evaluate the impact as well as the progress of the CGPHI’s CE program to company operations and the development of local capacities. The aim is to support community development.

Scholarship Benefits

School fees up to P6,000 per sem
Book allowance of P1,500 per sem
Monthly stipend of P3,000
Transportation allowance of P500 per month

Scholarship Qualifications

must be at least a 3rd year student;
Must be a Filipino citizen;
Must belong to Bracket 7 or lower based on the Socialized Tuition and Financial Assistance Program (STFAP) of the University;
Must have obtained a general weighted average of at least 2.50 in all subjects taken during the previous semester;
Must have no grade of 5.00 or unremoved grade of 4.00 or Incomplete in the immediately preceding semester;
Must not have been found guilty of violation of any of the rules and regulations of the University, including but not limited to hazing and/or fraternity

Scholarship Requirements

One 2 x 2 photo;
ITR or BIR certification of exemption and affidavit;
Form5;
True Copy of Grades;
Certification of Good Moral Character;
Birth Certificate;
One letter of recommendation from former Professor;
For new freshman: UP admission slip;
Principal’s certificate on students rank and size of graduating class;

scholarship is renewable each semester.
