Insular Foundation, Inc., formerly the Insular Life Educational Foundation (ILEF), was established in 1963, as one of the first corporate foundations in the country. Since then, it has served thousands of school children attain higher education and achieve a better life through scholarship grants for college and technician courses. Then and now, The Insular Foundation has always believed that investing in the development of the nation’s human resources through education is a step toward making life better for our country and our people.
Through this scholarship, the Foundation aims to encourage academically gifted individuals to pursue a teaching profession so that they can help improve the quality of the next generation of Filipinos.
free school fees for the 4-year course;
book allowance of P 3,000.00 per semester;
stipend of P 3,000.00 per month;
transportation allowance of P 1,500.00 per month;
board & lodging allowance of P4,000.00 per month
The Golden Eagle Award Incentive program is open for high school students in the form of the Golden Eagle Award medals awarded to high school valedictorians. Only the top 2,000 public and private high schools are qualified to participate in the program. All recipients are automatically qualified to vie for the slots of the Insular Life College Scholarship Grant.
The Award will be presented to the high school valedictorian during the
graduation exercises. An officer of the Insular Life shall be invited to present the gold medal to the valedictorian.
The valedictorian together with the top 2 students of each Insular Life Golden
Eagle Award participating high school can vie for a scholarship grant at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, provided that they pass the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) and provided further that they are enrolled in the course Bachelor of Science in Education.
the scholarship is renewable per semester. Requirements for renewal are:
average of “2.5” or better for a load of 15 units, with no grade of “3.0” in any subject in any given semester;
“incomplete” must be completed before the last day of registration of the following semester;
must not have been the subject of any disciplinary action worse than a five-day suspension;
must not shift to another course;
must not go on LOA without prior approval from the OSSS and the consent of the Insular Life Foundation, Inc.
After graduation, the Education scholars are required to work as teachers in any school in the Philippines for at least two years.
