Scholarship Background

Insular Foundation, Inc., formerly the Insular Life Educational Foundation (ILEF), was established in 1963, as one of the first corporate foundations in the country. Since then, it has served thousands of school children attain higher education and achieve a better life through scholarship grants for college and technician courses. Then and now, The Insular Foundation has always believed that investing in the development of the nation’s human resources through education is a step toward making life better for our country and our people. Beginning school year 2007-2008, Insular Foundation forged a tie up with the University of the Philippines, Diliman to support poor but intelligent students enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, as its way of helping the youth gain the highest quality mathematics education.

Scholarship Benefits

Actual tuition & miscellaneous as assessed but not to exceed P 20,000.00/semester;
book allowance of P 3,000.00/semester;
stipend of P 3,000.00

Scholarship Qualifications

must be a bona fide student of the U.P. Diliman, enrolled in B Elementary Education,B Secondary Education, or BS Mathematics;
must be an incoming freshman, and must have passed the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT);
must be enrolled in at least 15 units at the time of the award of the grant;
must be financially needy (parents annual gross income must not exceed 200,000.00;
must not have been the subject of any disciplinary action worse than a five-day class suspension.

Scholarship Requirements

After graduation, the Education scholars are required to work as teachers in any school in the Philippines for at least two years.
