The Cream Silk Girl Power Movement is envisioned to provide women from different sectors with opportunities to become achievers despite the various challenges they face. It reflects the brand’s character of bringing out the best in women. By equipping them with confidence gained through knowledge and skills, Cream Silk helps these women realize their goals. Cream Silk reaffirms its commitment in providing positive and meaningful change among Filipinas by bringing women empowerment right in the heart of the academe.
Unilever Philippines, through the Cream Silk Girl Power Movement, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the University of the Philippines and Polytechnic University of the Philippines, granting scholarships to deserving female students enrolled in male-dominated courses.
Each school year, 30 scholars are chosen from UP and 10 scholars from PUP.
school fees as assessed but not to exceed P 20,000.00/semester;
book allowance – P 4,000.00/semester;
monthly stipend at P 3,000.00;
t-shirts and bi-annual gift packs of Unilever products
Scholarship program remits P 2,340,000.00 every June of each Academic Year (Fund for UP Diliman)
must be female; must be among the 25% of her graduating high school batch, as certified by Head of the high school;
must have passed the UPCAT or PUP entrance exam and enrolled in any of the courses in the University of the Phils. Diliman or PUP;
must come from a family with an annual gross income not exceeding P 500,000.00;
must submit a 300-word essay in English or Filipino entitled “Why I Believe in Women Empowerment”
must maintain a grade not lower than “2.0” for renewal of scholarship each semester
