Gawad Patnubay College Scholarship Program aims to address the decline in enrolment in agriculture which has been noted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This scholarship program is a nationwide undertaking that will benefit college students who wish to pursue (or are pursuing) Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or agriculture-related courses. This is an e2e (education to employment) scheme that aims to reinvigorate the agricultural and cooperative sector with much-needed professionals who will pursue agricultural growth and development for the country C. Slots will also be available for second-year and third-year college students.
To be given are 100% subsidy for tuition, monthly stipend, and book allowance.
Graduates shall be obliged to render service to the agricultural sector for a minimum period of 1 year, either in government institutions or partners of LANDBANK in the private sector (e.g., cooperatives and microfinance institutions).
Successful graduates may be given priority in employment by the Bank and its subsidiaries, provided they meet the qualification requirements of the position.
As applicable, internship and thesis program opportunities can be made available at IRRI and LANDBANK upon application.
Depending on the budget balance for each scholar, a research grant not to exceed a one-time grant of PHP30,000.00 may be provided through the scholarship to fund the thesis/ special project/ practicum of the scholar under the program. Students who complete the degree program earlier than expected (e.g., finishing a 4-year course in only 3 years shall be awarded a PHP50,000.00 incentive under the scholarship program.
Students/scholars graduating with high honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude) shall receive a special award of PHP50,000.00.
Should the student graduate earlier and be awarded with high honors as well, he/she shall receive only PHP50,000.00.
Candidates must be Filipino citizens.
Priority shall be given to dependents of active members of cooperatives of small farmers and fisherfolk currently being assisted by LANDBANK or LCDFI, or of ARBs and ARCs.
Must have gone through initial screening procedures (e.g., entrance exams, submission of required documents, and preliminary interviews, which are standard requirements for enrollment) of partner universities.
Second-year and third-year candidates from any partner universities pursing BS Agriculture or any agriculture-related disciplines should have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.5 or its equivalent in each semester, with no grades lower than 3.0 or its equivalent in any subject.
Must not enjoy any other financial assistance, grant, or scholarship from other external sources (e.g., foundations, government and private scholarships, pre-need educational plans).
Annual income of parents/guardians must not exceed PHP150, 000.00 as stated in their BIR income tax return, with exemptions as determined by the project team on a case-to-case basis. For example, parents with six or more children may have an income that could exceed PHP150, 000.00—this may be taken into consideration when the application is evaluated.
Unemployed parents /guardians must submit a barangay certification of indigency or a BIR certificate of tax exemption.

Two 2”x 2” ID photos
Photocopy of recent ITR of parents or BIR certificate of tax exemption
Summary of grades (fourth-year high school) or transcript of records (first year and second year of college) with a general weighted average of 2.5 per semester or its equivalent with no grade below 3.0 or its equivalent in any subject
Certificate of good moral character coming from the school or university’s Office of Student’s Affairs
One letter or recommendation from a previous teacher/professor
Current resumé and list of activities, awards, and honors
500-word essay on “Why I am pursuing an agriculture-related career”
Barangay clearance from the applicant’s home barangay.
Scholarship application forms can be obtained from any LANDBANK branch nearest the residence of the applicant, from partner universities or IRRI or through the websites of these institutions.
The scholarship application form, together with the other requirements, shall be submitted to the partner university.
Lists of applicable agriculture and agriculture-related courses may be obtained from partner universities.
Applications must be postmarked or received on or before the published deadline of submission
