To be a dietician, you have to take up B.S. in Nutrition in college. This college course teaches you about food and nutrition; the importance of preparing, cooking, and eating the right types of food; and the nutritional values of food. In addition to these, the course also teaches students about nutrition guidelines, the consequences of not following the right diet, and the benefits of the right one. This will also teach you about the human body, diseases, and the effects of food on the body as well as microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, psychology, among others. Of note, dieticians are very much different from nutritionists. The former are qualified health professionals, while the latter are not. Also, you have to pass the licensure examination after your formal education to become a dietician, while the latter has no licensure examination and no formal education.

Cost of Education:

A full four-year course of B.S. Nutrition can cost you anywhere from P210,000 to as high as P290,000. The cost of education though depends upon the university and whether it is a public or a private institution.

He also provides nutrition counseling as well as work with an interdisciplinary team in caring for a patient.

Global Demand:

Middle Eastern countries that are hiring Filipino dieticians are Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman. KSA, Qatar, as well as UAE are also hiring dieticians from the Philippines.

Expected Salary:

An entry-level dietician typically earns P13,000 to P15,000 each month, including incentives as well as allowances.

Opportunities for Advancement:

From an entry-level dietician, you could advance to managerial and supervisory positions.
