The Professional Regulations Commission’s (PRC) website is the main source of data used for the table above. In four years (2008-2011), an average of 15 schools participates in every licensure exam for Occupational Therapist. There is a 45% passing percentage or 45 out of 99 examinees, on average.
Like in other fields, PRC presents its top schools in categories. For OT, either “with 10 or more examinees and at least 70% passing percentage” or “with 5 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage” is the limit used by PRC. To eliminate these categories and come up with an over-all top 10 in consideration of the PRC ranking, then, the limit used for the table above is simply “with 5 or more examinees.” In cases where schools do not have representatives on certain exam dates, the divisor used in deriving the average is adjusted accordingly. But for those schools with O% of passing, the divisor remains at 4.
To wit, based on PRC ranking on each exam conducted, only two schools survived their limits and these are UP-Manila and UST.
