Exams for this field are conducted twice a year. The Professional Regulations Commission’s (PRC) website is the main source of data used for the table above.
Like in other fields, PRC presents its top schools in categories. For ME, the top schools were categorized in two: with 10-25 examinees and with 26-85 examinees. To eliminate these categories and come up with an over-all top 10 schools still in consideration with PRC ranking, then, the limit used for the table above is simply “with 10 or more examinees” but with an exception. Once a school has entered the top 10 in whichever exam date, the limit ends. Take for instance, UST. Even if UST had below 10 representatives for the March 2010 exam, it was still considered in the ranking. This is because it has been among PRC’s top schools for April and October 2009 exams and in the other exam dates, UST passed the limit set. Note too that for schools with no representatives on certain exam dates, the divisor used in deriving the average is adjusted.

Batangas State is still the best in Mechanical Engineering considering that we always have more than 60 examinees… and wme have takers twice a year…
