  1. go to CENTRAL MINDANAO UNIVERSITY and enroll to the one of the hardest to graduate vet school in the Philippines. Its a center of excellence in vet med, and its a rare thing to see someone finishing vetmed here for just 6 years. and over its 30 years of existence, only 4 graduates managed to graduate with honors in this premiere school. cmu, clsu, uplb, these are the best vet schools in our country. :)

  2. The University of Southeastern Philippines is COE in Teacher Ed. And Tech. and COD in BSA BSAE. Why we cannot find our school in the list?

    • Hi Carlo,

Please note that this list was released by CHED on October 4, 2010. That might be the reason why you can’t find the name of your school in the list.

Dito mag sisimula ang high standard of excellence.

    • Tama! :) The institutions where we graduated or belong to are not the sole determinants of being of successful or the real essence to study, ang importante we’re living according to our purpose – helping. :)
Anyways, congratulations to all the Top Schools!
Praying that 1 day, ours will also be listed there. :)

  5. G. Abuzo

well the word which you were using was the wrong one you said coarse., and its meanins is rough in texture, supposed be to you’re referring to this word ‘course’ so good luck in your veterinary course.

  6. wow, …kasama talaga angn Central Luzon State University, I’m proud that that school is where I started…kakalungkot nga lang na wala ang school ko ngayon dyan,Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University… COE naman po kami sa Teacher Education,

  7. I am from Notre Dame of Marbel University..
COE po kami for Information Technology
COE po kami sa Teacher Education.
    86.96% po kami sa Medtech
    100% for Electrical Engineering
we have top 7 sa Board Exam lats april
    at top 4 last September
top 5 for CPA Board Exam.

  8. Aside from CODs and COEs, we also have to look at the levels of accreditation (i.e. Level I, II, III, IV). A school can be a COD in some specialized field yet only have a mere Level I or II accreditation. Simply put, the best recourse would be to look at the level of accreditation itself. I’ve been to many schools and there are those that have numerous Level IIIs in their respective programs notwithstanding the fact that they have not applied for COD or COE designations. For instance, Silliman University has the highest number of Level IIIs, a total of fifteen! No other school has attained that number of Level IIIs yet. Centro Escolar on the other hand is already in Level IV for its Pharmacy program, yet it’s not even listed as a Center of Excellence for that particular program. Does that give it a badge of inferiority? Not really. For one, most programs that are considered as Centers of Excellence are merely on Level III.

So one may ask, why are some schools having CODs and COEs? Simple answer to the question is: “COD and COE designations are granted on a per application basis. It’s optional. So even if the school has attained Level III on some of its programs already, it may nonetheless opt not to apply.” On the other hand, even if a program is still on Level I or II, the school may opt to have it designated as a COD.

  9. Could you please help me find a better school that fits the coarse Vet.Med. in Manila. I’m now a Senior Student, but im still confused of what coarse & school is the best for me. Thanks. :(

  11. Our school Notre Dame of Marbel University in Koronadal City informed the students that we are Center of Excellence in teacher education. However, we could not find the name of our school in the list of COE. Can you please show us the complete list?thanks.

  12. central luzon state university

Just email me or visit our school.

    • Generally, centers of excellence are proven performers when it comes to research, training, extension/linkage/leadership services, and whatever other specific criteria CHED uses in determining COEs and CODs), while centers of development are institutions that are approaching the level of excellence achieved by COEs but aren’t there just yet. CODs are thus usually defined as institutions that have the potential of becoming COEs in the future. To put it another way, CODs are great, but COEs are better than CODs.

        • The following are possible explanations:
          1. The university failed to apply for COE/COD status after the effective/valid period has lapsed.
          2. CHED did not designate it as COE/COD.
          3. The university could have been awarded COE/COD status after October 4, 2010 – the date CHED released the list of COEs/CODs on which this post is based.

  14. Could this perhaps be an incomplete data? I find it iompossible that there are no COE and COD in the Arts and Social Sciences
