Adamson Application and Entrance Exam Basics

There’s a mind-set going around that if something is more expensive, it must be good.  That’s not necessarily the case, though.  It’s also possible to come across something of good quality that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Case in point:  Adamson University.  This Vincentian learning institution offers qualified, competent instruction, modern educational facilities and a formidable laboratory for teaching one of its specialty subjects.  The school has a bit of an interesting history, too.  Let’s take a closer look at it.

Adamson Introduction

Adamson started off as a one-classroom School of Industrial Chemistry way back in 1932.  It received its university status in 1941.  Since then, it has occupied three different locations (Santa Cruz, San Miguel and Intramuros) before settling in its current one along San Marcelino Street.

Today, the school specializes in Engineering and Chemistry programs among its roster of courses.  It also offers IT (computer) and Nursing courses in keeping pace with the times.  Adamson also bears the distinction of having the lowest tuition fee rates among all Catholic schools in the Metro Manila area.

Adamson Admission Requirements

The university needs three main things from you, document-wise, plus the fee:

  • payment of the 400-peso Entrance Examination Fee
  • a photocopy of your Form 138 (high school report card)
  • a photocopy of your birth certificate
  • four 2 x 2 ID photos

Interestingly enough, the deadline of the aforementioned requirements is May of next year.  It may seem strange, yet it actually ties in with the schedule of entrance exams (Kindly see below.).

Adamson Provincial Application/Testing Process

Unfortunately, there are no provincial testing centers for the Adamson University Entrance Exam (UEE).  All applicants will need to apply and take the test at the Manila campus.

*Release of Adamson Entrance Exam Results

The university usually releases the test results around two to three days after the applicants’ exam date.  Staff members of the school’s admissions office recommend calling the office to check (Please see the contact numbers below.).

*General Adamson Exam Coverage and Feedback

The UEE covers major subjects like Math and English (with English divided into Grammar and Reading Comprehension).  The test appears to have no Science section, too.

Feedback on the UEE will vary depending on who you ask.  Some past test takers considered it manageable enough; others found certain sections harder than other sections (the grammar section, for instance.).

Of special note is the fact that Adamson has improved upon the original exam.  Some new questions have been included (items on equations, for example) and others have been dropped (Testing officials deemed them too difficult or no longer applicable.)..  Don’t worry, though:  the same general subjects were left intact.  The revision was more of an update or upgrade rather than a major overhaul.

Finally, applicants will still need to go for a face-to-face interview, except that it will be set during the enrolment period and likely scheduled before anything else.

Adamson Admissions Office Contact Information

Getting in touch with the school’s admissions office is as simple as calling the following numbers:  525-7013, 527-1823 and 524-2011 locals 129, 102 and 133.  E-mails go to registrar@adamson.edu.ph

For those who prefer to visit the office in person, the university compound is located at 900 San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila, Philippines.
