Quezon City Science Entrance Exam Results and The Next Steps

Have you ever experienced days when you prefer to take a entrance exam and just leave it at that? While there are schools that do that (especially for the college level) there are also schools that “go the extra mile” as far as screening is concerned.

The big three science high schools (Philippine Science, Manila Science and Quezon City Science) present their admissions process a little differently than the rest. If you’ve applied to QueSci in particular, then read on.

The Word is Out

If you aren’t aware of it yet, you’ll be pleased to know that QueSci has released the results of the first entrance test to the general public already. All you have to do is to drop by the school grounds and check them out. Just enter through the main gate, and you should see the listings on a bulletin board to your right.

In case you’re wondering if you can view the results online, sorry, but there is currently no website or other online option at this time. Your next best alternative is to call them up. (more on that later).

If your name is on the list, then congratulations! Don’t rest on your laurels yet, though. I said “first entrance exam” earlier because there’s still more to come, beginning with a second written exam phase set for January 30, 2010.

Incidentally, the room assignments for this part of the screening process will be posted on January 27, 2010. Just look for them in the same place where they posted the results of the first exam (at a bulletin board near the main gate).

The Next Steps

I’ll be discussing the different aspects of the screening procedure in greater detail in other articles, but for now, here’s an overall idea of what you can expect from the next few steps.

The first exam you took was a more general, Department of Education standardized test. In comparison, the second exam focuses more on the three most important subjects for QueSci: English, Math and Science.

In the event that you pass that, the school will inform you when you may proceed to the next phase of the screening—an interview involving both you and your parents sometime in April 2010. The specific date of the interview will depend on interviewer availability.

Finally, the school will also require you to go for a medical exam. This is probably the only part of the screening process that you generally don’t have to prepare for.

Getting in Touch

It always helps to ask the folks at QueSci if you have any questions about the screening process. Feel free to call 4536619 and look for Miss Grace See, or dial 4559995 and ask for Miss Nena Bongon.

Alternatively, you could visit the school and talking to the aforementioned staff members in person. QueSci is located along the corner of Golden Acres Street and Misamis Street, Bago Bantay, Quezon City. Your landmark is the carpark of SM City North Edsa—the school is positioned right at its back.

    • @Ron,

As mentioned in the post, the list of the first exam passers can be found at the Quezon City Science High School campus. to quote:

All you have to do is to drop by the school grounds and check them out. Just enter through the main gate, and you should see the listings on a bulletin board to your right.

Quezon City Science High School does not have a website and does not provide a list of entrance exam qualifiers online.

First-exam qualifiers should drop by QueSci to check their room assignment for the second screening (another exam).

Only qualifiers of the second exam can go through to the next phase: the interview. Finally, only interview passers can become QueSci freshmen, provided that they pass the medical exam, of course.
