ACET Results and the Next Steps
With the hustle and bustle of modern life, it’s ironic that quite a bit of time is still devoted to waiting for things we consider important. For students who wish to join the ranks of the blue-blooded, it means waiting for the results of last year’s Ateneo de Manila University’s College Entrance Test (ACET).
The good news is that the wait is almost over. Getting the news isn’t the end all and be all of things, though—you’ll still need to tie up some loose ends afterward.
The Moment of Truth
The Day of Reckoning may already be upon you even as you read this article—Ateneo officials have set it for one o’ clock in the afternoon of Saturday, January 16, 2010. The place to be is the area to the side of the Blue Eagle gym (not inside the gym itself).
For those who’d prefer not to go all the way to Loyola Heights, the powers-that-be will also post the results online. Simply check this website every so often after 1 p.m. on the aforementioned date.
I said “every so often” because one o’ clock is more or less an estimate—depending on how their system goes, the results may or may not be up at exactly that time. Nevertheless, rest assured that university staff members will do their best to get the results online as soon as they possibly can.
The Waiting Game
Let’s say you’ve passed the ACET. Congratulations! Don’t rest on your laurels yet; there’s still work to be done in the form of confirming your enrolment.
Here’s the big question: may I do so as soon as I get my results? The answer, unfortunately, is no, not yet. For one thing, you’ll need to wait for a certain instruction-filled letter to arrive in your hands by February. All the details of your post-ACET procedure will be listed there.
As with the ACET results, Ateneo staff members will post the instructions on the official website as well. In fact, they’ll probably do so long before your letter arrives. Nevertheless, stretch your patience a little and wait a bit.
Another thing you should note is the fact that enrolment confirmation proper will begin on March 8, 2010. That’s when you can go ballistic as far as enrolment confirmation is concerned. Your deadliest deadline for getting all the requirements in is 12 noon of April 10.
Ask and Ye Shall Receive
A former professor of mine once told me that “the only stupid question is the one that isn’t asked.” If you have any questions about your ACET test results or if there’s anything you need to clarify about the post-ACET instructions, direct them toward the Loyola College Office of Admission and Aid.
Simply dial 426-6001 and follow the recorded voice’s instructions to get connected to the office. Look for either Queenie or Mr. Fajardo. If you’d rather interact with them in traditional face-to-face fashion, however, just drop by the Ateneo College Campus along Loyola Heights, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.
