We believe that this requirement is valid. A contract prohibiting a UP-campus-transfer is an effective deterrent against misuse of UP system backdoors. Without this requirement in place, a student could apply for reconsideration in a UP Campus then, after one or two years, apply for transfer to his/her preferred campus (say, UP Diliman or UP Manila). In short, this policy discourages the (mis)use of smaller UP campuses as stepping stones towards the more popular UP campuses. Thank you for visiting, and we hope your son makes it. I'm a parent of an incoming college student. We have applied for reconsideration at UP Pampanga where the required UPG is 2.500. Our son's UPG is 2.514. We were advised by the Admissions Office to submit a copy of the UPG for further evaluation of UP Pampanga review committee. We were also told that should we get a favorable response to our appeal our son will be asked to sign a contract indicating that he is obligated to finish the entire course only at Pampanga. Our understanding is that a student whose appeal has been granted cannot apply for transfer to other campuses at any time.Appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you very much. Good day!
